Marriage Equality

Free to love and marry who we choose should be a basic human right!

Rev. Dr. Jacqueline Lewis, Minister at Middle Collegiate Church in New York speaks in support of marriage equality at a rally in New York.

Q What would need to happen for you to seize the opportunity to speak up and  stand in support of  GLBTQ brothers and sisters that are marginalized because of who they love and who they choose to marry?

Blessings! Rev. Qiyamah

Black Girls Run

DSCN1149_738
L-R Libra Malika - McKinney (my oldest daughter) and yours truly, Qiyamah.

“Black Girls Run” is the caption on my daughter Libra’s t-shirt. Shortly after this picture was taken on Saturday morning around 9:00 am she took to the running trail and I took to my bike. We put in a little over 11 miles. She did extra since she ended up getting lost trying to get back to my apartment where she and her husband Walter were visiting me from Atlanta.

Q What form of exercise are you engaging in to stay healthy and fit and to de-stress?

Blessings! Rev. Qiyamah

The Man Box

This brother's compelling story breaks down males negative socialization that results in males perpetuating unhealthy values and beliefs about women in society. It is concise and to the point! If you are a parent, spouse or someone that has not thought about the high levels of violence against women it will be the best 10 minutes you have ever invested.

Question: What can you do to eliminate or at least reduce violence against women?
Blessings! Rev. Qiyamah
