Unitarian Universalist Women of Color
This sea of smiling faces staring out at you all belong to Unitarian Universalist women of color that gathered at General Assembly June, 2006 in Fort Worth, TX. As women of color they represent some of the following ancestries: African,Caribbean, Native/American Indian,Asian and Pacific Islander, Latina/Hispanic and Middle Eastern/Arab.
Many of us come together annually at General Assembly to conduct workshops and education, network and provide emotional support to strengthen our ties and resolve so that we do not get worn down in our journeys and ministries from the isolation of being so few in our denomination and movement.
In a future posting I will write about a recent retreat for seminarians and ministers of color and hopefully share some more pictures.
Blessed Be! Qiyamah A. Rahman
